when, at 6:30 in the morning, you hail a cab in Barcelona and tell the driver "aeropuerto, rapidamente!" ("airport, quickly!" for those who aren't up on the lingo) he will take it seriously and run red lights for you.
that's what happened to me this morning after i realized i overslept and wouldn't be able to take the train as my flight was leaving in less than 1 hour. not only did we attempt to run a red light, we almost got smashed by a bus. my life did, in fact, flash before my eyes.
also, don't ever get lost in lisbon because when you realize you're lost after walking downhill for 20 minutes, you'll need to walk uphill for 30.
